We had 40 family members traveling together with Patrick. Everyone had so much fun. He gave us so much history followed with humor. Not to mention he’s so polite and helpful. Our trip to Ireland was everything we hoped for and so much more, thanks to Ireland My Way! Patrick was absolutely amazing, incredibly helpful, and made sure everything was taken care of. Our driver, Tony, was equally wonderful! Hiring a company to handle the driving and logistics was one of the best decisions we made. Instead of worrying about navigating unfamiliar roads, making reservations, or figuring out transportation, we could simply relax and enjoy everything Ireland had to offer.

And Ireland certainly did not disappoint! From tasting Guinness and confirming that, yes, it really does taste better in Ireland, to being amazed by the Book of Kells and the magnificent Long Room at Trinity College, every day brought something memorable. One of our favorite adventures was the horse-drawn carriage ride through the Gap of Dunloe, followed by an exciting and adventurous boat ride through the breathtaking Irish landscape.

Having a local driver made such a difference! Tony knew the best places to eat, helped us with restaurant reservations, and made sure we experienced places we might otherwise have missed. One particularly special stop was Sean’s Bar, considered the oldest bar in the world. There is something extraordinary about enjoying a pint in a pub that has been welcoming people since 900 AD!

Before visiting, I had this picture in my mind of Ireland as a beautiful, green island filled with breathtaking landscapes. And while Ireland is certainly all of that, what I loved most was something I hadn’t fully anticipated: the Irish people. Their warmth, welcoming nature, incredible sense of humor, knowledge, and genuine pride in being Irish made this trip truly unforgettable.

Patrick and Tony are true ambassadors of their country. They didn’t just help us see Ireland; they helped us experience it, appreciate it, and fall in love with it.

We enjoyed every minute of our adventure and are already looking forward to coming back!

Our group of 8 met Patrick in Galway in July 2026 for an 8 day/7 night adventure through the southern half of Ireland. Our time with him could not have gone better! This was not a Point A to Point B experience. It was beyond expectations. Patrick made every effort to create a wonderful atmosphere in the van. He was punctual and the van was extremely clean. He told stories and folklore and gave us history lessons. Had the best suggestions for meals each day. He took us around according to the itinerary but also made sure to stop at interesting places along the way to make the day special. Every detail was well thought out. Patrick also made sure to get us key group photos at all the locations, and often personally escorted is to the ticket window or entrances to ensure our directions. We had front row parking and pick up every place we visited.

Our trip was amazing, no doubt because of the efforts and care he took each day of our journey. Thank you Patrick! We will be back!

Twice Patrick has taken 7 of my college friends and me on spectacular golf weeks throughout Ireland. This time he was just as good, if not better, taking my family of five for a quick 4-day vacation. Without Patrick, the trip would have taken us 2 weeks. Beautiful country, beautiful people, made even better with Patrick as our guide. I’m hesitant to leave a raving review, only because it might mean future trips will be harder to book. But Patrick deserves 5 stars!

Patrick McCarthy was absolutely exceptional! Throughout our day trips, we repeatedly found ourselves saying how grateful we were not to be the ones navigating the roads. We even met another couple who regretted renting a car because they were exhausted from driving. Having Patrick as our driver and guide made all the difference.

Patrick’s knowledge of Irish history and local culture is incredible. Along the way, he shared fascinating stories and pointed out hidden gems and special landmarks we never would have noticed on our own. Beyond being informative, he is warm, personable, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with — it truly felt like we were traveling with a friend.

Ireland wouldn’t have been the same without Patrick, our tour guide. He was wonderful and so thoughtful in how everything was planned for us. We loved hearing about the history, past and present, of what we were seeing as we traveled with him.

My husband and I just returned from a weeklong visit to Ireland. We had never been before but always wanted to see and experience the magic that only Ireland provides. We hired Patrick to provide a busy itinerary, and adequate, clean and comfortable accommodations. He did not disappoint! We saw everything that we wanted to and even more because, until we were there, we didn’t know what we didn’t know! Patrick had it all figured out so that the entire week went on without a hitch.

Our driver each day, Caroline, was very personable and knowledgeable! She regaled us with detailed history of everything we saw and provided legends and personal stories as we traversed the beautiful countryside. She couldn’t have been more outgoing and friendly!

My only complaint is that the week flew by and our visit not long enough.

The next time we go, we will most certainly hire Patrick again, stay longer, and in the meantime, recommend to all of our family and friends Patrick McCarthy and Ireland My Way!

Patrick was incredibly helpful with airport transfers and a three day tour of the Ireland countryside. Our diver, Raymond, was an absolute pleasure to have for the trip. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the company to anyone.

The roads of Ireland are challenging and Patrick is a professional driver which is great and needed so you can focus on the sites in a timely manner. The touring can be fast paced or not and travel is well planned. Enthralling activities, reasonable pricing and exploration of Ireland with historical commentary provided by Patrick is the way to go…

Honestly I’m not sure I have adequate words to explain our tour around Ireland with Patrick other than miraculous. He was an answer to our prayers and has become a member of the family. His knowledge and passion for Ireland are in every word, every chosen back road that’s off the beaten path. Patrick is simply spectacular! He truly made our trip unforgettable from beginning to end with his personal stories deep knowledge of Ireland’s culture history and hidden gems. Ireland is a beautiful country and has incredible people and I couldn’t imagine a better private ambassador to have with us than Patrick McCarthy. His professionalism was unparalleled–he was always on time, dressed well, and went above and beyond at every turn. In fact, he saved us constantly by reminding us to grab our passport from the hotel safe or telling us where to eat in a local town. He weaved personal stories into all our stops and those stories were told with such enthusiasm and always a chuckle. Patrick loved to laugh at his own jokes and stories. When it was time to leave it was like saying goodby to an old friend or member of the family. I’m not going to lie; tears were shed when he left. We spent so much time together and his warmth, humor and personal touch really created a unique bond. It was very sad to eventually say goodbye. So, if you’re looking for more than a tour guide, Patrick is your guy for an authentic and unforgettable Irish journey.

Patrick was our driver guide for our 5 day tour of Southern Ireland. He was so easy to communicate with before our trip and truly catered our trip to our exact group. He suggested activities, booked hotels, did all the driving between towns/cities that were hours apart, and gave us a ton of historical information while we rode. He stopped for amazing photo ops, for bathroom breaks as needed, and even made our lunch reservations for travel days. Not only was he thorough and communicative, he truly LOVES his country. His pride is so obvious and it makes the country even more beautiful to a visitor. We learned a lot, saw everything we wanted to see, and made it to all our destinations by the times we hoped to. I can’t imagine having done this trip without Patrick and I will recommend him to absolutely anyone who plans on visiting this amazing place. Thank you again, Patrick! We had Patrick as our guide and driver for a 12 day tour of Ireland(and the north of Ireland). He was awesome. You can tell he loves his country and is very knowledgeable of its history and all the great places to see. He made our lodging arrangements and getting us into the sites and attractions we were interested in seeing. He made it so smooth and convenient. A pleasure to speak and deal with. Even found us a place to get laundry done and a bank ATM. We couldn’t imagine doing this trip any other way. He was recommended by friends and he exceeded our expectations.

Friends enthusiastically recommended Patrick to us after having toured with him a few years ago, but they could not have said enough wonderful things about him. We toured the southern part of Ireland over eight days with Patrick and it was a complete joy. He is so knowledgeable about his country, and suggested numerous unscheduled activities that he felt would suit us. I had recommendations from friends on activities and restaurants, and Patrick was able to make all of those happen. Besides being so good at his job, and his safe and superb driving, he is genuinely a lovely person who my daughter and I were pleased to spend eight days with. Also, the hotels he chose were excellent. We upgraded to four star hotels and a two-night castle stay, and were very pleased with his selections. We hope to tour the northern part of the country with Patrick in the not too distant future. I wish I could give him 10 stars because he is simply perfection.

Our group of 8 truly won the vacation lottery when we were paired with Patrick for our 11 day Ireland trip. It was the first time visiting Ireland for all of us and for many their first International trip. I’m afraid that no trip will ever live up to the expectations they now have with a driver and tour guide like Patrick being their first. Patrick’s love for his country, traditions and culture both in the past and current day, are evident from the moment he starts talking. He gave us the perfect mix of history and knowledge along with tales and fables while we traveled the countryside. We only had a few must do things planned but each day Patrick took us to at least two beautiful locations. I’m convinced Patrick knows everyone in the whole country and he was able to arrange some amazing experiences and excursions for us. We will be recommending Patrick to everyone we meet. And we will for sure be planning another trip back to explore the parts of Ireland we missed on this trip.

We certainly found the luck of the Irish in Patrick! We hired a driver sight unseen and left with a friend. Patrick took eight of us on a tour of southern Ireland. After seeing the narrow roads, we were so thankful for Patrick’s expert driving! He made the trip so easy. His recommendations were spot on, and we got to see so much more than we expected. It was a great mix of tourist spots and authentic places. He always seemed to know the right times to be at tourist areas, best restaurants, and where to see the beauty of Ireland. On several long rides, he gave us the history and stories of Ireland as we passed through. Best of all, Patrick agreed to be the officiant at our vow renewal ceremony! We can’t recommend Patrick highly enough. The trip would not have been the same without him, and I can’t imagine we would have had the same experience on our own.

Our group of 8 debated renting cars for the 10 days in Ireland. We are so glad we went with the a personal chauffeur AND hit the jackpot landing Patrick as our guide. If you are debating driving yourself and have never been to Ireland, debate this no longer. Your only decision is to request Patrick to take you. Sit back, relax and have a beer as Patrick navigates the countryside and suggests key places to go and see. You will NOT be disappointed. Patrick was courteous, professional, funny, energetic, knowledgeable, etc. His knowledge of Ireland and recommended stops were spot on, intimate spots only the locals know, and would NOT have occurred if we rented cars. Patrick went above and above and beyond provided spectacular pictures and videos via his personal drone. Not only was it a good trip, we made a new friend in the process in which we all miss him already!
